Project Proposal

1. What is your goal? What do you hope to change and/or improve with your project?
I would like to do my project on the issue of getting people to actually go out and vote. Two of my roommates were not concerned about voting and I even printed off the forms and gave them to them multiple times and they still said they were too busy to fill them out and mail them in. It just upsets me because voting is so important! Obviously, I want people to vote for the candidate that I support, but I would rather have people vote for the other candidate and care enough about the future of our country by being passionate about an issue or a candidate than not vote at all. My goal is that my project will at least inspire one person to go vote who was not going to before.

2. Who is your target audience? What will you need to do to focus on and reach that audience specifically? 
My target audience is the people who either do not care enough to go vote or the people who claim their vote doesn't matter. Every vote matters and counts; and I want people to realize that and get out there and make their voice heard. They need to feel that it is really important that they take the time to fill out the form and go out on November 6th to make their voice heard.

3. What form will your communication take? How will you create it?
I would really like to do a video, but I don't know if I am capable of doing something with fancy editing. I might make a music video with the words changed, or do a documentary of sorts that would be persuasive to my target audience.

4. How will you distribute the information? 
I could definitely post a video on youtube and facebook, so if I end up doing that it would be great.

5. If your project is successful, what will be different/changed/improved? How will you measure or demonstrate your project's effects? 

Hopefully I will convince people to vote! Unfortunately it will be hard to tell if I made a difference, since the deadline to register is already past, but I would like to see people register to vote, and go vote even in the smaller elections. I will feel accomplished if I can get my 2 roommates to go and and register.
